Description
The Pied Kingfisher is a species of water kingfisher widely distributed across Africa and Asia. This is one of my favourite birds as in Africa. It is lightning fast and seeing it hunt for fish is a wonderful sight.The speed that it plunges into the rivers is amazing. The eye sight is sensational to see the fish in murky waters.
Pied kingfishers are usually found in pairs or small family groups.
