I adore this Island as it is one of the most amazing photographic experiences that you can have. It is Australia’s third largest Island it is nothing short of sensational. I have been coming to the Island for 30 years and know it extremely well. On my Kangaroo Island Photographic Tour I will place you in the right place at the right with the right light.
What I love about this wonderful Kangaroo Island Photographic Tour is that each day you have something new and awe inspiring to take pictures of. I love this tour as there are many wonderful different layers to this trip.
Your camera will be working over time from photographing Kangaroo Island beaches and the wonderful tranquil coves, white sandy beaches, to stunning rock scapes and to the abundance of wildlife. I’m with you all of the way helping you with your settings if you are unsure.
My Kangaroo Island Photographic Tour features Remarkable Rocks and they are just that. They are remarkable on so many different levels. They are the photographers dream who loves shapes, textures and shadow and light. I can’t express how awe inspiring these rocks are and in the 30 years I have been visiting them, they are always different as light is changing all of the time. Just stunning and you are in for one massive photographic experience with the Rocks and you will be taken by the sheer silence on my Kangaroo Island Photographic Tour.
On all of my Photo Tours I supply notes to help you along the journey and these notes are helpful for when you leave the tour and you can use them in your own photography.
Apart from the locals, I know this Island like no other and have been exploring this Island for 30 years and the experience that I bring to this tour is so valuable as like all of my tours I put you in the right place at the right time. Knowing the Island as well as I do, I know when the light is changing, i know where the light is in each season as it varies which allows you to get the most out of your Kangaroo Island Photographic Tour.
I never take it for granted when people join me on any of my tours and in particular I’m so excited when it happens as I get a chance to show case the best Island that Australia has to offer. Why is it the best Island in my opinion? Well when you are on Kangaroo Island photographic Tour, I’ll tell you why. Hope to see you soon.
Hanson Bay which is a part of the Kangaroo Island Beaches and Kangaroo Island Photographic Tour is a real gem and you will fall in love with its wide open spaces and the clarity of the water on a good summers day will entice you into the water. The small wine glass bay that it is will excite as well. It is a stunning location for photography as you’ll see why we go there.
Kangaroo Island Beaches are free spirited which offers so much. When I go there I feel a deep sense of wonder, delight, freedom, being in touch with my emotions and all of my senses: This is what you get to see on my Kangaroo Island Photographic Tour.

(Min of 6 for this) If that is not enough, our group gets their own personal hour with the birds of prey where we can photograph them in flight and do our own photographic study on these wonderful birds. If the numbers are right you get your own private tour of seal Bay where we can photograph these wonderful creatures in peace and tranquility. ( If numbers are low we join a normal tour) He also has an appreciation of photography and has been on several of the Pete Dobré Kangaroo Island Photographic Tour so he puts us in the right place at the right time. If you are brave enough with the cool waters you can even go swimming with them. This is an experience that leaves a lasting impression!
Note: We require a minimum booking of 6 people on the tour to run this activity
This is where Pete hires out the beach on the Kangaroo Island Photographic Tour if numbers are high enough where you photograph the seals with a guide who can direct us where we can and can’t go and the good thing is that we have the beach to ourselves and it is not uncommon for someone in the party who just sits and admires all that is around them and rarely takes a picture. The choice is your to photograph or just to take it all in .
Beach & Ocean Scapes
The Island is made up of so many wonderful beaches and Pete takes you in a sea scape journey where you will see the clear majestic waters before your eyes and as many people are amazed that you usually get the beaches to yourself or only with a handful of people. The overseas people who Pete’s Photo tours in South Australia are totally blown away with the lack of people on the beaches which is awesome.
Every day is perfect in a photographers world and every cloud has a silver lining.

- Operators that I deal with in running my tours require commitment 8 weeks out and in the past I’ve had people booking within that time and the tour has to be cancel due to low numbers and yet if people had booked earlier, the tour would have been sold out. This is one of the tricky aspects of running tours which is the cut off point which operators require otherwise I’m charge with rooms that I cant use. Please keep this is the back of your mind when considering a Pete Dobré Photo Tour, just makes things so much easier from my end.Pete
