Using ND Grad Filters
Once you have an understanding of how f stops and depth of field, this workshop will teach you the importance of using ND graduated filers. You need to have an understanding of f stops to be able to attend this workshop.Pete also believes where possible it is always best to get as much right in the camera and understanding how to use ND graduated filters will go a long way in achieving that. The picture below has not been manipulated in photoshop, this is done within camera. The camera see the left picture as eyes take the picture. What our eyes actually see when we look through the view finder is the right hand side picture All the ND graduated filter has done is given what the eye sees. All done within the camera.[/p] For this workshop you will learn far more if you have your own ND graduated filters. These are not cheap but if you are serious in learning about the ND system, then the investment spent will be well worth it and over time, the cost will be insignificant to what you’ll be able to capture.I recommend two systems that you can buy. The Lee system and the Singh-ray system. My experience with these two systems is that they give the best results. Depending which system you buy and what step up rings you buy, they will cost you between $400-$500.[/p]
