Fields Speak.

When I was on the road last Thursday( Feb 7th 2013) I was making my way through the Riverland in South Australia and along the way I was detained and for very good reason. For those who know me well, they know that I can’t give up an awesome sky as when they are about, I just love them and I can’t get enough of them and I can’t resist the pull towards them..

On this day it was no exception. I had people to  meet and I was faced with the dilemma of not knowing what I should do. Do I by pass this opportunity and blaze it up to  where I was heading, or do I put the passion and love first. Needless to say, the passion and the love won out with not much a resistance I have to confess. So how long did I think about it, umm not long haha:).

Did I make my appointments, I did, but a little later than I thought I’d be: well lets says I was detained 2 hours at this amazing spot.

Most days  we are given a free gift from above our heads.Maybe if everyone shared my passion for the awesomeskies, no work would be done in society and I guess that will lead to all sorts of stressful things.

Standing in the field for Pete it was just so hard to pull myself away and there was so much happening with this sky and it was indeed speaking to me. It just had to be captured.Perhaps it was me more speaking to it haha:)

What I love about recording these awesomeskies, is as photographers we are  capturing the moment. The time lapse shows so much that we wouldn’t see as we don’t realize how the skies are moving, the direction that they are coming from and it is so rewarding watching back what you are able to capture.

Standing out in the fields like I did on this day, for Pete he is reminded what fulfills him as a person, the free gift that God gives us all is the nature that we stand  before . Happiness  and being contend is not found in possessions, nor even is dollars, the feeling of feeling content comes from deep within the soul. When you allow possessions to be your goal of happiness, you’ll find once that it has worn off, you need the upgrade, the next model to feed your quest for happiness and at the end of the day the goal is never reached as one is always wanting more and then we need to ask the question, when is enough enough?

I’m reminded by the statement by Denis Waitley “ Happiness cannot be travelled to, owned, earned, or worn. It is the spiritual experience of living every minute with love, grace and gratitude” and when you can get yourself to that point, you will soon lean that the purist of happiness is empty if it is based of material things.( Im not saying having material things is wrong, what I’m saying, that they won’t bering you fulfillment if that is your goal to happiness of having …..owning,….desiring…. etc

Standing before God’s awesome acts of creation with the simple skies and yet, not so simple in meaning, I’m delighted that for me, the free gift of creation that is all around us is what bring me most pleasure.( outside my two kids of course)

In your travels, if you are out in the country,  and you see  awesomeskies, pull over, stand by the barbed wire fence and take a moment to watch the skies, take in the ambiance, the solitude, the peace, the serenity and I think this just might show you, or speak to you in a way that you thought not possible:)

I leave you with this quote from an unknown

“Life is short, live it. Love is rare, grab it. Anger is bad, dump it. Fear is awful, face it. Memories are sweet, cherish it.” – Unknown”

Pete:)
